Kosovska agencija za \u0161umarstvo ima mandat za upravljanje \u0161umama, i odgovorna je za regulisanje \u0161uma i \u0161umskog zemlji\u0161ta, administraciju i upravljanje javnim \u0161umskim zemlji\u0161tem i \u0161umama u nacionalnim parkovima Kosova (osim onih koji su zakonom eksplicitno dodeljeni nekom drugom vladinom telu).\n\nU ovom kontekstu, FAO ima za cilj da izgradi informacioni sistem koji c\u0301e slu\u017eiti kao IT alat za pokrivanje potreba KFA u obavljanju svog mandata upravljanja \u0161umama.\n\nRazvoj KFIS ima za cilj pru\u017eanje pomoc\u0301i za implementaciju \u0161umarske politike i strategije Kosova, kroz omoguc\u0301avanje i\/ili olak\u0161avanje proizvodnje, skladi\u0161tenja, obrade i razmene informacija o \u0161umama. Kroz ta\u010dnije, sveobuhvatnije, a\u017eurirane i konvertovane informacije u statistiku, upravljanje \u0161umama c\u0301e se unaprediti na svim administrativnim nivoima.\n\nKFIS c\u0301e biti razvijen kao IT alat za A\u0160K i kao takav, bic\u0301e pod odr\u017eavanjem i odgovorno\u0161c\u0301u A\u0160K u vlasni\u0161tvu MP\u0160RR. Po\u0161to je predvi\u0111en kao alat KFA za sprovo\u0111enje vladinog mandata, dizajn sistema ima za cilj da odra\u017eava organogram pod kojim KFA radi, naime, to c\u0301e biti sistem koji ima centralnu bazu podataka u KFA. Sve kosovske op\u0161tinske kancelarije, \u0161est koordinacionih regionalnih kancelarija i KFA i koristic\u0301e ovaj sistem. Druge relevantne institucije i gra\u0111ani Kosova imac\u0301e ograni\u010denu upotrebu na celom Kosovu.
