Workshop on Coordination of Activities for Sustainable Forest Management An important workshop was held at the Forestry Vocational Training Center in Blinaje, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the Kosovo Forestry Agency.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and coordinate activities around the work plan for 2025, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the Kosovo Forestry Agency and FAO within the framework of the project “Support to strengthening sustainable and multipurpose forest management to improve livelihoods in rural areas and address climate change in Kosovo”, which is funded by the Embassy of Sweden and the European Commission. During the workshop, participants discussed strategies for sustainable forest management, improving infrastructure and strengthening institutional capacities to ensure the protection and sustainable use of forest resources. A special focus was given to improving inter-institutional cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at preserving biodiversity and addressing the challenges of climate change.
The Kosovo Forestry Agency and FAO reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperation and to ensure that policies and actions in the forestry sector support sustainable development and improved livelihoods in rural areas of Kosovo. This meeting marks an important step towards strengthening forest management and implementing best practices in this field.
