Kosovo Forestry Agency

The Kosovo Forestry Agency has the mission of sustainable management of forests and state forest lands, including pastures and forests in national parks as resources of general interest. In particular, the Kosovo Forestry Agency administers, manages, provides professional, technical, administrative and informational services for all forests of Kosovo, preserves and protects state forests, cares for the cultivation and protection of wild animals and performs other functions in accordance with the law on forests.

According to the Law on Forests approved by the Assembly of Kosovo on 13.02.2003, Law no. 2003/3 and promulgated by UNMIK regulation 2003/6, UNMIK regulation 2004/40), and based on paragraphs P and C, of ​​Article 7, of the aforementioned law, the Forestry Authority of Kosovo, established by UNMIK administrative ordinance 2000/23 as amended, transferred and acting under the authority of the Ministry as an Executive Agency and renamed by this law as The Forestry Agency of Kosovo is responsible for matters related to the regulation of private forests and the management and administration of public forests and national parks of Kosovo. This law was subjected to further changes and with Law no. 03/L-153 On the amendment and completion of law no. 2003/3, on the Forests of Kosovo “Forest Agency”, is the executive body for the forests of Kosovo.
