Article 6
Directorate for Forest Management
1. The duties and responsibilities of the Forest Management Directorate are:
1.1. Organizes and ensures the implementation of forest policies;
1.2. Ensures sustainable use of forests;
1.3. It ensures the implementation of policies on the concession of forests and forest lands, of forest silviculture in public and private forests, as well as monitors and coordinates with the relevant actors the activities in the field of forests.
2. The head of the Directorate for Forest Management reports to the General Director of the Forestry Agency of Kosovo.
3. The Directorate for Forest Management includes:
3.1. Sector for Planning, Inventory, Management Plans and Forest Cadastres, Counseling and Concessions;
3.2. Sector for Silviculture, Exploitation of Forests, Non-Wood Products, Protection and Monitoring of Forests; AND
3.3. Sector for Information Management in Forestry.
4. The number of employees in the Forest Management Directorate is ten (10).
Article 7
Sector for Planning, Inventory, Management Plans, Forest Cadastres, Consulting and Concession
1. The duties and responsibilities of the Sector for Planning, Inventory, Management Plans, Forest Cadastres, Consulting and Concession are:
1.1. Ensures the implementation of forest management legislation;
1.2. Cooperates with relevant actors for the improvement of inventory methods and management plans;
1.3. Reports on a regular basis on inventory and management plans;
1.4. Examines the compatibility of forest utilization plans with the basic capacities calculated from the Inventory and Management Plans.
1.5. It provides support for the compilation and implementation of plans for forest utilization;
1.6. Provides support in the design of standards and procedures in planning, utilization, concessions in forests and forest lands;
1.7. Prepare documentation for forest and forest land concessions.
2. The Sector Leader for Planning, Inventory, Management Plans, Forest Cadastres, Consulting and Concession reports to the Leader of the Forest Management Directorate.
3. The number of employees in the Sector for Planning, Inventory, Management Plans, Forest Cadastres, Consulting and Concession is three (3).
Article 8
Sector for Silviculture, Exploitation of Forests, Non-Wood Products, Protection and Monitoring of Forests
1. The duties and responsibilities of the Sector for Silviculture, Forest Utilization, Non-Wood Products, Forest Protection and Monitoring are:
1.1. Ensures the implementation of the procedures for the realization of the annual plans and analyzes the results of the implementation of the plans in the relevant field;
1.2. Supervises and monitors logging, silviculture, afforestation and other activities in forest cultivation to ensure the fulfillment of professional standards, annual forest management plans and other requirements arising from Law no. 2003/3 On the Forests of Kosovo and other by-laws provided by this law;
1.3. Provides support in the drafting of procedures and standards for activities carried out in silviculture, protection from fires and various forest diseases and monitors their implementation,
1.4. Monitors the implementation of legislation, procedures and standards regarding the use and concession of forest resources in forests and state forest lands;
2. The leader of the Sector for Silviculture, Forest Utilization, Non-Wood Products, Forest Protection and Monitoring reports to the leader of the Forest Management Directorate.
3. The number of employees in the Sector for Silviculture, Forest Utilization, Non-Wood Products, Forest Protection and Monitoring is three (3).
Article 9
Sector for Information Management in Forestry
1. The duties and responsibilities of the Information Management Sector in Forestry are:
1.1. Provides support in the management of information in forestry;
1.2. Manage forestry information;
1.3. Provides support in the design of the information management strategy;
1.4. Identifies the needs for information management adequately.
2. The Head of the Information Management Sector in Forestry reports to the Head of the Forest Management Directorate.
3. The number of employees in the Information Management Sector in Forestry is three (3).
